This is my first post as a blogger. I am not the kind of person who would be very comfortable to share my feelings through write-ups, but now I am very much moved to write this blog as I read a novel "The Pelican Brief". A wonderful thriller written by John Grisham in his own way.
Darby Shaw, a law student who was in love with her professor Thomas, investigates about the murders of two supreme court judges and writes a brief. The brief has been handed over by Thomas Callahan to his friend Gavin verheek, who works in FBI. The brief, in turn finds its way to the white house and almost scares the top level management, including the president.
There were a lot of leakages in the white house, that the details of brief finds the owner of the spam and He started defending himself by going on a killing spree starting from Thomas. Darby narrowly escapes from the bomb blast and is on the run. Gavin comes in her rescue and the CIA guys were also following her. While Voyles from FBI wanted to enquire on the brief, the white house asked them to keep him(Owner of spam) out of the investigation.
Gavin comes to New Orleans to pay his last respects to his friend, Thomas Callahan. He also tries to be in touch with Darby, who has been there in New Orleans. When they had finalised their meeting with each other and made plan to flew away from the city to Washington, Gavin was murdered by the professional killer who had murdered the two judges. The killer listens to the taped conversation betweeen Gavin and Darby and went to see Darby the next day in the name of Gavin. After their brief introduction, he was shot dead by someone and Darby once again runs for her life.
On the other side, Gray grantham, a reporter in Post, got a call from an anonymous, who pretends not to reveal his identity and informs that he has some details about the murder of the judges. When they both finalises the meeting, the person cancels it in the nth minute and there was no news from him after that. In the mean time, Darby finds Gray Grantham and they together started working on solving this issue.
Then the story goes round such twists and turns you will find it difficult to keep this book down from this part. The rest of the story is good when you read it yourself. It took me nearly a week to cross the first 100 pages. But when Darby and Gray joined hands i finished the rest of the pages(336 to be exact) in 3 days.
So guys, what are you waiting for? Just get the book and start reading. Happy reading!!!
